The Victoria Hotel, Holkham closes for a major refurbishment
The 10-bedroom Victoria hotel in Holkham, Norfolk, has closed its doors to guests while it undergoes an extensive refurbishment.
Located on the Holkham Estate and managed by the Southwold-based brewery Adnams, the hotel will reopen in May as the Victoria Inn. All the bedrooms and bathrooms will be re-designed, along with the bar and restaurant.
David Horton-Fawkes, estates director at Holkham, said the transformation represented a major investment and a brand new start for the Victoria, which Adnams took over last year.
"The Victoria sits at the gateway to the estate and will change from a boutique hotel to a modern estate inn, combining the best of the past and the present with boldness, style and simplicity".
Meanwhile, guests to the area are being redirected to the Victoria's sister hotel, the Globe at Well-next-the-Sea.
• Adnams, which operates four hotels and 70 pubs in East Anglia and London, has been awarded the Investors in People Gold status, placing it amongst East Anglia's top 5% of businesses for people management.
