Master Innholders invites senior hoteliers to apply for membership
Senior hoteliers are being invited to apply for membership of the Master Innholders, an association of leading hoteliers founded 30 years ago, for 2010.
In the past the awards have operated on an invitation-only basis, but this year hoteliers are being asked to put themselves forward to join the 100-strong society.
Applicants should be based in the UK and have worked for the last five years in the position of hotel general manager or be a working proprietor in a hotel of standing.
Applicants are expected to have worked tirelessly to make a significant contribution to the work of industry organisations and/or training and education initiatives, and should submit a paper (between 1000 and 1500 words) on how they have contributed to the development of hotel keeping and how as a Master Innholder they could best exert their influence on the future of the industry.
The application should also include evidence of active involvement in industry organisations, (such as membership on committees) and other activities in support of the industry, as well as be supported by a letter from a Master Innholder who is neither a relative nor someone working in the same company.
Applications will be considered by the Chairman's Membership Panel, with short-listed applicants invited for an interview in March 2010.
The paper should be submitted as a Word document by email, together with a full CV (incorporating a colour photo) to jeremy.logie@talk21.com before the 16th October 2009.
