Côte to open Charlotte Street site in London

French bistro chain Côte is to open another London site, taking it to a total of 31 restaurants around the country.

The business is taking on the lease of Indian restaurant Rasa at 5 Charlotte Street. Rasa had a lease expiring in 2030 at a rent of £100,000 per year. An undisclosed premium was paid.

The site will become a 110-seat Côte restaurant in the heart of a popular restaurant quarter frequented by the media and entertainment industry.

Nick Weir, director of property agent Shelley Sandzer, which brokered the deal, said: "This was an off-market transaction, and one of a series of deals we've done for Côte in recent months. The brand is enjoying a successful expansion across some key locations in the capital as Londoners' appetite for good, simple bistro cooking continues."

Côte recently opened in Camden and Islington and also has restaurants in Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent, London, Surrey, Sussex, the Midlands, Somerset and the South-west and Wales.
