Olympic torch to feature at Arena lecture

A London 2012 Olympic torch will feature at the forthcoming Arena Lecture by LOCOG's catering chief Jan Matthews, it has been announced.

The Arena Lecture on 20 March at the Savoy, London will see the head of catering, cleaning and waste services for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) take to the podium.

Matthews will address attendees on the hospitality and catering journey so far, the challenges still to be faced, and the legacy that she hopes to leave.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be able to announce that thanks to Coca-Cola, we have secured a unique opportunity to present on the evening of the Arena Lecture a London 2012 Olympic torch," said Arena director Lorraine Wood.

"The 2012 Games naturally generates interest across the board and as a result our speaker, Jan Matthews, and the subject of catering for the Games has already created a lot of excitement."

Tickets cost £195 plus VAT for Arena members and £245 plus VAT for non-members. Tables of 10 are available at £1,800 plus VAT.
