Pieri’s restaurant in Kilmalcolm – one of the wealthiest villages in Scotland – has been sold after 28 years under the same ownership.
The Renfrewshire village 20 miles west of Glasgow has a population of 5,000 that includes one of the highest percentages of millionaires per capita in Scotland.
The 46-seat licensed restaurant occupies a site St James Terrace that has been trading as a dining venue since its foundation as Baldi’s Café in 1901.
Pieri’s has traditionally opened only in the evenings from Tuesdays to Sundays so there is scope to expand the business by serving at lunchtimes.

The Glasgow office of Christie + Co sold a new 25-lease off a guide price in excess of £100,000 on behalf of Emilio Pieri, who took on the property in 1979.
