Hotels wooed for new online spa booking service

Hotels with spas are being encouraged to join a new online booking service backed by the former worldwide president of Four Seasons and the co-founder of Lastminute.com.

The Wahanda website, which becomes transactional next month, aims to include more spas, salons, treatments and practitioners than any other site.

Its backers – including Wolf Hengst, the former president of worldwide operations, at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Lastminute.com’s Brent Hoberman - claim that hotels joining up will be able to increase their bookings and gain access to customer feedback. 

There will also be a “significant” gift voucher element to the site, providing the opportunity to sell own brand vouchers or use the Wahanda gift voucher as payment for services.

Hengst, chairman of Wahanda, said: “During my 30 years in the spa and hospitality industry, I saw firsthand the lack of marketing and distribution partner support for spas.

“Wahanda fills this gap by promoting the industry to new customers and increasing awareness online to efficiently drive incremental business to partners.”
