Eurest checks in with Thomas Cook
A three-year contract with Thomas Cook with a turnover of nearly £800,000 a year has been won by Eurest. The caterer, part of the Compass group, will provide food and hospitality services at Thomas Cook’s headquarters in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, catering for up to 2,000 staff and visitors a day.
Jarvis may subcontract Lancaster catering
Infrastructure services firm Jarvis could be on hunt for a contractor to provide catering services as part of its new £339m deal to build student rooms at Lancaster University, unveiled last week. The deal, the largest ever student accommodation project, will see Jarvis build 3,405 bedrooms as well as maintaining and servicing the accommodation. A spokesman said it was likely the firm would want to contract-out the catering, but that it was too early to say what that might involve.
Raft of wins for BaxterSmith
Independent caterer BaxterSmith has announced new contract wins with a combined turnover of more than £2m. They include a deal to run the staff restaurant at the new Selfridges store in Birmingham's redeveloped Bullring, as well as contracts with law firm Clyde & Co in Guildford, at the new head office of construction group Skanska in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, and a group contract with Global Home Loans in Dartford and Leeds.
Azure expands
Glasgow-based corporate hospitality and leisure catering company Azure has opend a new office in Manchester. Managing director Caroline Black said: "We had reached the stage in our development where it was deemed necessary to have a permanent office in Manchester which will service our growing client base in England." Azure is set to turn over £15m this year.
