Novikov restaurant & bar, set to open in London's Mayfair this November, has appointed Japanese-trained chef Jeff Tyler to head up the Asian Room. Tyler arrives from the Mandarin Oriental Marrakech, where he was chef de cuisine. Prior to this he was at the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, working alongside the Michelin-starred chef Carmen Ruscalleda, and in Japan, where he became a protégé of Toshkatsu Chiku-san, president of Chiku Ya Restaurant Group in Hamamatsu.
