Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association, has become chairman of industry charity Hospitality Action.

Cotton has moved into the role after a year spent as the organisation’s president.

He said: “Having worked closely with Hospitality Action over the last year I’ve found it humbling to see the extent of assistance the organisation injects back into the industry.”

Hospitality Action chief executive Penny Moore said the appointment of a new chairman would help promote the importance of the charity within the sector.

Cotton replaces former Compass Group UK & Ireland chief executive Don Davenport.
