Neil Morrissey puts Browns Hotel up for sale

Browns Hotel, in Laugharne, south Wales – hard-drinking poet Dylan Thomas' favourite pub – is on the market for £1.5m.

The Grade II-listed pub and hotel was bought by actor Neil Morrissey and business partner Matt Roberts for £670,000 just two years ago, but the £1.5m price tag includes the car park, and adjoining house and land, as well as Dylan Thomas memorabilia.

Morrissey and Roberts are selling up to further other business interests both in west Wales and worldwide, according to a spokeswoman for the Men Behaving Badly star.

Bob Croydon, of King Sturge, the international property consultant handling the sale, told the Press Association: "The sale of Browns with the adjoining house and land will generate immense interest both from the UK and international market.

"Browns Hotel is one of the most famous pubs in Wales. Indeed, rumours have already sparked some inquiries.

"It is important to remember the heritage involved in the sale of this property and how fondly Browns Hotel is regarded, not just by the local community but throughout the world, exemplified by the large number of tourists to the area each year."
