One-Michelin-starred restaurant L'Ortolan is to close for six months for a £250,000 expansion.
The restaurant in Shinfield, Berkshire, which also holds three AA rosettes, will increase its capacity from 55 to 85 covers with a new dining room to supplement the current one.
Proprietor Peter Newman said the expansion plan was the result of an increase in bookings, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Staff have been given two months' notice, but will be offered their old jobs back when the restaurant reopens.
Executive chef Daniel Galmiche, who replaced Alan Murchison last summer, will be retained to help with the expansion.
L'Ortolan serves 250-450 covers a week. Average spend is £85-£90 for dinner and £35-£40 for lunch.
