Independent caterer BaxterStorey has appointed ex-Compass Group man Richard Flynn to lead its push into the north of England and Scotland.
Flynn, who was previously food service director for the Marks & Spencer contract at Compass, takes responsibility for a seven-strong sales team whose remit starts at the midlands and heads north.
The company already looks after the BBC, Royal Sun Alliance and Sage within the region and Flynn has been charged with tripling the company’s presence in the territory during the next three years.
Flynn said: “There’s no shying away from the current market conditions, but I see these times as a strong opportunity for us.
“We have an existing, successful operation across the northern region on which we will confidently build.”
