Former Michelin-starred restaurant Tamarind is to branch out into the event catering market after entering a partnership with Mint Catering.

As part of the deal, chefs at the Indian restaurant in London’s Mayfair will create menus while event caterer Mint will take responsibility for sales, marketing, staffing and event organisation.

Tamarind will create menus including canapés, bowl food, buffets, barbecues and lunch, dinner and banquet menus as well as event Tandor grills under the guidance of executive chef Alfred Prasad.

Tamarind’s chief operating officer Rajesh Suri said the partnership meant that the restaurant can form part of a comprehensive catering offering.

“Our fine dining Indian cuisine will be available alongside European menus,” he said. “Customers will be able to choose their preferred option.”

Martin Allen, Mint Catering’s general manager, added: “In today’s market, we constantly need to innovate and this partnership adds a new dimension to our offer.”
