Marco Pierre White has personally made two new appointments to head up his new venture, Marco Pierre White at The Swan Inn in Aughton, Lancashire. Simon Bower and David Thorneycroft (shown below) join the business as executive chef and general manager respectively.
Bower is a Michelin-starred chef with over 20 years' experience, including seven years as joint head chef at Northcote Manor in Lancashire. He previously worked under White at his London restaurants and was recommended for the role by Neil Thorley, executive chef at White’s Yew Tree restaurant in Berkshire.
Meanwhile Thorneycroft got the job after impressing White at interview. He previously worked at White’s Wheeler’s of St James restaurant in London.
White said: “David and Simon are fantastic. I interviewed candidates from across the country and they were the two that stood out with regard to ambition, enthusiasm and the ability to deliver quality food and exceptional service.”
The Swan Inn is set to open next week. Meanwhile, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill at the Doubletree by Hilton Chester will open later this month.
