People 1st will announce tomorrow that former chairman Don Davenport is to return to the hospitality sector skills council to replace Nick Basing, who stepped down from the role in December after just three months.
Davenport, the former Compass Group UK chief executive, returns as non-executive chairman and will be assisted by David Fairhurst, the vice-president (people) at McDonald's, who has become vice-chairman.
A further vice-chairman appointment will be announced tomorrow.
Joining Fairhurst and Davenport as new appointments to the Trustee Board will be Charles Prew, chief executive of Paramount Hotels, and Robert Roger, finance director of the Tussauds Group.
Davenport said: "I am delighted to be taking up this role with the support of such a talented board. I have always believed that People 1st was capable of making a real difference to skills provision in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism and now that we have such strong industry backing we will be looking to make a step change in the next two years."
