The New Inn

Welsh coaching inn the New Inn has been sold to Paul and Elaine Thompson.

The 17th century freehouse is based in the Powys village of Llanbadarn Fynydd, which was voted the UK Village of the Year in 1998-9.

It sits on the A483 Llandrindod Wells to Newtown road and is close to Radnor and Clun Forest.

Its annual turnover of £200,000 is split equally between wet and dry sales.

The inn comprises two letting bedrooms, a 12-seat beamed locals’ bar, a 12-seat games room, conservatory seating for 28 guests, and a 40-seat lounge.

The business also incorporates a five-bedroom owners’ house, the rights to cater for the 300-capacity village hall next door, and a detached barn with planning permission for conversion into a play barn.

The 4.5 acres of gardens include woodland and a waterfall, along with salmon fishing in the River Ithan that runs in front of the inn.

GA-Select completed the sale of the freehold off a guide price of £435,000 on behalf of Peter Watson and Paul Lomax.
