TV chef
Alan Coxon has launched a 12-part online food and wine course called Coxon's Kitchen College, one of the first interactive cookery courses on the internet.
The course, supported by Master of Wine Sally Easton, claims to take subscribers on a global journey through wines while side-stepping the snobbery often associated with the subject. Course participants will be taught how to match cooking ingredients to wines and learn about tasting techniques.
The Kitchen College concept, which includes courses on foods such as cheese, chocolate and fruit, operates as a month-by-month, step-by-step guide to the history, trivia, tips and techniques relevant to each subject.
Both Coxon and Easton are available to answer any culinary queries participants might have by e-mail. The full course costs £39.95.
Coxon can be seen on BBC2's
Ever Wondered About Food? series, which is running from now through to November.
