Contract catering giant Sodexho Alliance has appointed Philip Jansen as chief executive for the UK and Ireland.

Jansen, 37, was formerly chief operating officer at travel operator MyTravel Group.
He will take up his position on 1 October and will be responsible for initiatives to improve profitability in the UK and Ireland, already underway.
Jansen started his career with Procter & Gamble and has also worked for cable TV firm Telewest and Dunlop Slazenger.
Michel Landel, chief operating officer, Sodexho Alliance and executive chairman of Sodexho in the UK, said: "I am confident in Phil's ability to motivate and mobilise the team members to accelerate efforts to improve profitability in the UK, just as he's done with other companies."
