Hat-trick for Eaton
Eaton Group has won three new contracts with a combined turnover of more than £1m a year. Eaton Fine Dining Direct has won a three-year contract to provide hospitality at the London office of energy company EDF, while its meals-on-wheels division, Fresh CM, has won a four-year contract with Buckinghamshire County Council to provide 90,000 meals a year and a five-year contract with the London Borough of Newham, which will see the group delivering 100,000 meals a year.
Compass takes off in Zurich
Compass group has won a nine-year contract at Zurich’s Unique Airport with an annual turnover of more than £16m. Under the deal Compass’s Select Service Partner division will operate 10 new outlets and will be the sole supplier of catering in the airport’s new Airside Centre.
Fish and chips and plenty of tee
Golf fans attending the Open Golf Championship in Sandwich, Kent, last weekend scoffed their way through an estimated 14,000 portions of fish and chips, washed down with 100,000 cups of tea and coffee, according to caterer Sodexho Prestige. About 100,000 pints of beer and 25,000 rounds of sandwiches were also consumed during the three-day-long competition.
Eurest extends in Germany
Eurest, part of Compass Group, has renewed and extended its contract with investment bank Deutsche Bank for a further five years. Eurest will serve more than 10,000 meals a day to staff at 25 sites across Germany. The contract has an annual turnover of about €20m (£14.2m). Eurest has also won a contract with the Turkish Military to provide meals at its Navy Commander Centre in Kocaeli, on the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul. Turnover here will be $5m (£3.1m) a year.
