Lucky Voice to open second London karaoke bar

Karaoke bar operator Lucky Voice is launching a second outlet in London a move that will kickstart plans to roll the concept out as chain.

The company, which launched in London’s Soho in 2005, is opening a site in Islington next week.

Housed in a former Tragus-owned Bierdome on Upper Street, the venue will include a bar as well as seven private karaoke rooms each hosting between four and 15 people.

Lucky Voice has also earmarked a venue in Brighton, which it plans to open in the first half of next year, with further sites in the pipeline as the group plans to roll the concept out as a chain.

It has previously franchised sites to Novus Leisure for Tiger Tiger bars in Manchester and Cardiff

Managing director Nick Thistleton told Caterersearch the rollout of extra venues would be measured.

“We’d like to get to a point where we can open around three sites a year and locations are likely to include cities with an existing nightlife culture,” he said. “This is our opportunity to prove that we are not a flash in the pan that can only work in Soho.”
