Accent Catering has scored a £250,000, three year contract to provide school lunches for pupils and staff at Deanesfield Primary School.

All existing staff at the Middlesex site will transfer under TUPE regulations to Accent and be provided with additional training.

Gordon Haggerty, managing director at Accent, said: “There are 477 pupils at the school, with only 155 currently taking lunch. We intend to increase this to 200 by the Spring with further increases over the life of the contract.

“We will do this by communicating with parents and working in close partnership with the Senior Leadership Team to encourage parents to see the school meal as excellent value for money.”

The catering team will prepare a full menu on site each day, to included a main meat dish, a vegetarian dish, fresh vegetables, jacket potatoes, a hot dessert, a fresh fruit platter and extensive salad bar.

School staff will be able to select from the daily menu or pre-order sandwiches, baguettes and plated salads from the catering team.

Kris O'Sullivan at Deanesfield Primary School, said: “The Head Teacher visited two other local primary schools that are operated by Accent and was impressed that 18 months on they are still keeping all of their promises, the standards are still excellent and the Senior Leadership Teams are very happy.”
