Bar Risa, the Regent Inns-owned bar brand is currently undergoing a strategic review, according to the company’s executive chairman, Bob Ivell.
The company, whose branded portfolio includes the Walkabout chain and Jongleurs Comedy Clubs, reported a return to like-for-like growth of 1.1% in November, following a year of transition within Regent Inns.
Despite this growth, a number of Bar Risa feeder bars have underperformed. Speaking at the AGM, Ivell said that a review of the ailing chain was already taking place.
“We are well underway with a review of the Bar Risa business with the aim of delivering improved trading,” he said.
The AGM announced the departure of Nigel Bachelor from the board, and welcomed John Laurie as a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee. Alan Jackson was appointed as senior non-executive director.
