The 90-seat restaurant at HMP High Down in Sutton, Surrey, serves food prepared, cooked and served by 22 prisoners who are training towards City & Guild qualifications under chef Alberto Crisci. They use seasonal and local ingredients, much of it sourced from the Clink's own greenhouse.
The new hampers, packed with home-made festive fare, make an unusual corporate gift for clients, suppliers or staff and extend the Clink Charity's efforts to showcase the culinary talents of its graduates to organisations in a position to take on qualified, full-time staff or make a donation to its rehabilitation work.
The Traditional Christmas Hamper is a wicker tray full of gift-wrapped goodies, including a Clink-made 500g muslin-wrapped Christmas pudding in a porcelain dish, a one-litre glass bottle of Clink apple juice, a Clink mug, jars of home-made onion relish and cranberry sauce, a collection of prisoners' poetry and a Clink pen.
Deluxe Christmas Hampers pack all the above into a luxury wicker hamper, plus a Clink apron and a jar of home-made apple sauce.
Hampers can be pre-order and collected from the Clink restaurant or delivered directly.
