Shaun Hill back in the kitchen at the Glasshouse

Monday 23 January 2006 08:00

Shaun Hill, former Michelin-starred chef-patron of the Merchant House in Ludlow, will take over the reins at a new and improved Glasshouse restaurant in Worcester.

Hill is co-owner of the new restaurant, which will move half a mile across the town to a more prominent location.

Hill, current Glasshouse owner Brandon Weston and a third private backer bought the freehold site for £400,000. It will seat 100, compared to the old restaurant's capacity of 46, and Weston hopes turnover will at least double when it opens in the summer.

The old Glasshouse, which will remain open until the move, currently takes between £8,000 and £10,000 per week.
