Caterer Charlton House has taken a £1.5m-plus Ofcom contract off Compass Group’s Restaurant Associates.

Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK’s communication industries, has awarded Charlton House a three-year deal to cater for its 900 employees at its corporate headquarters at London’s Riverside House.

The contract is worth £570,000 in annual turnover and will be run by 11 staff providing breakfast, lunch and hospitality services.

Judy Roberts, Charlton House business development manager, said: “Our goal is to upgrade the kitchen facilities by Easter and to create a restaurant environment where Ofcom employees can feel comfortable meeting through the day.”

Charlton House currently employs 1,750 people and has an annual turnover of £67m.
