2012 Galvin Cup now open for entries
Mixology skills will again be put to the test in the 2012 Galvin Cup competition, which is now opened for entries.
The founders of the competition, Michelin-starred chef Chris Galvin and Fred Sirieix, general manager at Galvin at Windows, decided it was time for bar staff to receive the same recognition as chefs for their hard work and creativity.
The competition is open to both students and professionals from across Europe and the UK. Contestants will be asked to prepare a classic Negroni - an aperitif traditionally made of gin, vermouth and bitters - along with a second drink of their own choice.
They will be judged on their mixing skills, confidence and appearance at the Waldorf Astoria hotel Syon Park in west London on 21 May under the watchful eyes of a panel of judges that will include Salvatore Calabrese, Peter Dorelli and Sara and Chris Galvin.
Entry details and forms can be found on the Galvin Cup website. The deadline for entries is 1 May.
