Waiter admits restaurant theft

A waiter has pleaded guilty to stealing £7,000-worth of food and wine plus £650-worth of cutlery and kitchen appliances from the San Marino restaurant in Chelsea, where he worked for five years.

Twenty eight-year-old Gianpaolo Cadoni, who was allowed his own set of keys to the restaurant, was finally reported to police by his estranged wife, a London court heard.

Cadoni was remanded on unconditional bail until13 May for a pre-sentence report.
