The AA has announced the winners of its annual B&B Awards, which this year have been redesigned to include three new categories.

Previously the Landlady of the Year Awards, the AA B&B Awards now honour the UK’s Friendliest Landlady of the Year as well as the Funkiest, and the Most Family-Friendly B&Bs.

Rosemary Reeves, who runs the Grey Cottage in Stonehouse in Gloucestershire, was named the Friendliest Landlady of the Year 2007. She was praised for her “genuine warmth and friendliness” and for setting and maintaining exemplary standards of hospitality and care at really good value.

The AA Funkiest B&B Award went to The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, which won for its successful combination of modern chic and old world character.

The winner of the Most Family-Friendly B&B was Lochwood Farm Log Cabin in Saltcoats, a working farm in Scotland.

The AA B&B Awards are a branch of the AA’s well established Hospitality Awards which cover the best of all AA-inspected and rated hotels, restaurants, guesthouses and B&Bs.
