Tillery Valley wins three-year deal for delivered meals at five NHS hospitals

Sodexo's food production business, Tillery Valley, has won a three-year deal to provide delivered meals to five NHS hospitals within Wolverhampton, West Bromwich and Walsall.

The contract, worth around £280,000 a year, will see the prepared foods manufacturer provide chilled and frozen meals in daily deliveries to the five hospitals, part of the Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The West Midlands hospitals to benefit from the service are Health Lane, Penn, Edward Street, Orchard Hills and Pond Lane.

Tillery Valley has been supplying meals to Penn hospital since March 2008. The extension of this service to five NHS units across the Trust comes into operation following a competitive tender.

Peter Marrs, sales director at Tillery Valley, said: "Our dietitians are closely involved in the development of our products, and we place great importance on accommodating both nutritional and dietary standards and individual tastes."

From its production site in Abertillery, Gwent, Tillery Valley supplies more than 600,000 prepared meals each week to healthcare services, the education sector, local authorities and community delivery schemes across the UK.
