The historic Royal Insurance building in Liverpool could be transformed into a luxury 95-bedroom hotel.
Agent Edward Symmons has been instructed to sell the landmark building (right), which has stood empty for almost a decade. Planning permission to turn the former office building into a hotel was granted in 2001 and plans for the conversion are already prepared.
Edward Symmons is now searching for interested boutique luxury hotel operators and developers to buy the Grade II-listed property, which has a guide price of £4m. The total cost to convert it to a hotel is likely to be much higher, however, as the interior has been damaged by water and is in need of repair. The building is in the middle of Liverpool's commercial centre.
