Summer redesign for the Capital Restaurant

Tuesday 22 June 2004 11:08
The two-Michelin-starred Capital Restaurant is to undergo a complete redesign this August.

The restaurant, part of London's Capital hotel in Knightsbridge, will benefit from a fresh new look, inspired by the 1940s and described as "traditional with a modern twist". Its details include sycamore-panelled walls, chairs in cornflower blues, a faux ostrich leather banquet and mirrored walls.

Chef Eric Chavot, who won a second Michelin star in 2001, will remain at the restaurant when it reopens after refurbishment. The hotel's bar will also have a new look, influenced by Harry's Bar in Venice. The existing walls will be moved to increase capacity and the design will be a mix of nickel, granite and leather.
