Compass appoints Carol Hudson as retention director of UK & Ireland business

Compass Group has announced the appointment of Carol Hudson as retention director of its UK and Ireland business.

She joins Compass in July with more than 30 years operational and sales experience in the catering industry, which includes over 12 years with Gardner Merchant (now Sodexo) and six years as an independent consultant.

Hudson joined Compass in 1998 to establish the retention function in the UK, which led her to working with Compass Group USA as retention director for their national accounts division.

She returned to the UK in 2009 and was instrumental in establishing contract retention into the UK business's strategic sales approach, through the use of proven tools and techniques.

Reporting to group managing director Ian Sarson, Hudson will lead the retention activity across all business sectors.

Sarson said: "Our primary aim is to drive contract retention across all sectors of our UK business. We need to understand our clients, meet their needs and establish their trust.

"Carol's insight in developing winning client relationships is second to none, and I am confident that her appointment as retention director is set to drive our future growth."
