Wednesday 23 July 2008 15:46

Budget hotel operator EasyHotel has signed a deal with Splendid hotel group to take on four hotels in London.

Splendid, which already operates the EasyHotel London Victoria, will open its latest site, the 47-room EasyHotel Paddington, in early October.

Al-karim Nathoo, associate partner of the Splendid hotel group, said: “The EasyHotel brand and super-budget model have huge growth potential in the UK and we hope to replicate the success we have enjoyed with EasyHotel Victoria.”

Nathoo added that Splendid planned to invest up to £50m to operate 10 EasyHotel sites across the country in the next three years, including further sites in London, and he expected to reveal locations in the next six months.

Splendid currently operate 17 hotels in London and Manchester under brands including Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn, Best Western and Comfort Inn.

Lawrence Alexander, chief executive officer at EasyHotel, said: “Splendid have had great success operating EasyHotel Victoria over the past 16 months and we are delighted with their endorsement of the brand by committing to this prime London location.”

EasyHotel currently has three locations in the Capital, including Victoria, South Kensington and Earl’s Court. It also plans to open a site near Heathrow in October.
