The first Identita London Italian Chef Congress took place last month at Vinopolis and featured demonstrations from a string of chefs from Italy, the UK, Brazil and Denmark.
Based on the five-year-old gastronomic Milan event, Identita Golose, the London event ran across two days and hosted suppliers from a variety of Italian regions.
Among the chefs demonstrating were Carlo Cracco of Ristorante Cracco in Milan, Moreno Cedroni of Madonnina del pescatore in Senigallia, Ancona and leading Danish chef Rene Redzepi of Noma in Copenhagen.
Caterersearch sent Roy Ackerman and his Cool Cucumber TV crew to catch up with a few of the suppliers and some of the leading names appearing at the event - including Massimo Bottura of the two-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana in Moderna, Alex Atala of DOM Restaurante in Sao Paulo, Catey Chef Award 2009 winner Angela Hartnett of London’s Murano and event founder Paulo Marchi, who created Identita Golose in Milan in 2004.
