Chefs Peter Gordon and Anna Hansen, owner's of London's Providores restaurant, are to get a bite of the Big Apple.
They have been consulting on the launch of Public, a restaurant inspired by their successful Marylebone restaurant, which opens in mid-October in the NoLita area of New York.
The restaurant was the idea of American architect Adam Farmerie and his brother Brad, who worked with Gordon and Hansen in London at both the Sugar Club and Providores. They have provided the funding for the venture.
Gordon and Hansen have no financial stake in the restaurant, but will be travelling to New York on a regular basis.
Gordon said: "The plan is that either Anna, myself, or our sous chef Miles Kirby will be in the kitchen at Public every month for a week."
Unlike Providores, which has two dining areas, Public will have one dining room. Gordon and Hansen opened Providores with their business and personal partners Michael McGrath and Jeremy Leeming in Marylebone High Street in 2001.
