All Thrums

Edinburgh hotel Thrums has been sold for more than £1.2m to Mohammed and Kashif Javid. The 14-bedroom property, which incorporates two 19th-century buildings, has two residents' lounges, a cocktail bar and 25-seat restaurant. Christie & Co was the agent.

Offley Place sold

Offley Place, Hertfordshire County Council's residential conference and training centre near Hitchin, has been sold to Hamid Sabahipour for close to £1.5m. Sabahipour already owns and operates the Zeus hotel and restaurant in nearby Baldock. The 17th-century, Grade II-listed building has 26 bedrooms and 10 meeting rooms and is set in about 35 acres of gardens. Christie & Co was the agent.

Park life

The Park Hotel & Restaurant in Falfield, Gloucestershire, has been sold to Ralph Holbrook off an asking price of £750,000. The 18-bedroom hotel is situated a mile from Junction 14 of the M5 between Bristol and Gloucester and features three function rooms, a restaurant, bar and two-bedroom owner's accommodation. Christie & Co was the agent.

Five Rise purchase

The Five Rise Locks hotel in Bingley, West Yorkshire, has been sold to industry newcomers Lin and Stuart Doughty off an asking price of £625,000. The hotel, which has views across the Aire Valley, has nine en suite bedrooms, a restaurant, bar-lounge, conference room and three-bedroom owner's accommodation. Christie & Co was the agent.

Insider deal

The Inn at the Park hotel in Deemount Terrace, Aberdeen, has been sold for more than its £550,000 asking price. The hotel comprises 11 bedrooms, a dining room, function suite, restaurant and public bar. The former manager of the hotel, Michael Taylor, and his uncle, Michael Gray, have bought the hotel. Christie & Co was the agent.

Greene King double

Brewer and pub company Greene King has bought the two remaining Innlodge hotels from Slug & Lettuce bar operator SFI for £8m. The two hotels, in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and Yatton, north Somerset, add a total of 115 bedrooms to Greene King's portfolio of hotels. Fleurets was the agent.

Heartbeat haven

Agent Knight Frank has sold the Mallyan Spout hotel in Goathland, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, for £1m. The hotel, a favourite of the stars of the Heartbeat TV series, has been bought by Stuart and Nicola Knight and Michael and Kay Bell, all of whom are experienced hoteliers. The hotel has 26 bedrooms and a bar.
