The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is planning to build a four-star, 200-bedroom hotel at the home of English rugby union, Twickenham stadium in Middlesex.
The hotel will form part of a new £80m stand at the stadium, which will also house a health and fitness club and conference centre.
Planning permission for the redevelopment of the stadium is expected to be granted by the end of the year, but the hotel is unlikely to be operational until 2007.
Consultancy firm PKF conducted the feasibility study for the new hotel and is advising the RFU on finding an operator for the property. Talks are already under way with several four-star hotel operators, which are rumoured to include Marriott International and Hilton, among others.
