Jan Matthews, head of catering for LOCOG, to give Arena Savoy Lecture

Jan Matthews, head of catering for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), will take to the podium for the Arena Savoy Lecture, it has been announced.

The Arena Savoy Lecture is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 20 March, just 129 days before the London Olympic Games kicks off.

Matthews will address her industry colleagues and give the story of the Olympic hospitality and catering journey so far, the challenges still to be faced, and the legacy that she hopes to leave.

With the ultimate responsibility for delivering the complete catering package, Matthews also oversees cleaning and waste services for the games.

The event will be held at the Savoy hotel, beginning with Matthews's formal presentation, followed by a drinks reception and three-course dinner aimed at maximising industry networking opportunities.

Tickets cost £195 plus VAT for Arena members and £245 plus VAT for non-members. Tables of 10 are available at £1,800 plus VAT.
