By the Glass wine preservation and serving system reaches UK

Already installed in bars, restaurants and hotels across Europe, the By the Glass wine preservation and serving system has come to the UK.

By the Glass maintains opened wine for up to 14 days without any loss in quality or taste, enabling operators to offer a range of wines by the glass without substantial wastage or even, in the case of a hotel, to operate a prepaid smartcard self-service wine bar.

The system is designed to display and dispense measured quantities, or tastes, of red, white and rosé wines in an attractive back-of-bar machine. It is available in a six- to 16-bottle size range.

The system uses nitrogen to protect the wine from oxidisation. With two climate areas, the By the Glass system ensures that each glass of wine is served at the correct temperature and in perfect condition. Manufactured from stainless steel or with a variety of solid wood finishes, the units can be integrated into an existing bar or restaurant or can be designed in as a feature of a new venue.
