CWF has recently been appointed the sole UK distributor of Berlucchi Cuvée, Italy's number-one brand of Metodo Classico-produced sparkling wine.
Available in two styles - Berlucchi Cuvée Imperiale Brut and Berlucchi Cuvée Imperiale Max Rosé - the wine's production process focuses specifically on high-quality viticulture with low yields per hectare to ensure the most perfectly ripened Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes are hand-picked for the sparkling process. Only the lightest pressing of the grapes takes place, followed by slow, cool fermentation of the natural yeasts, which helps maintain the aromatic qualities and character of the grapes.
Once bottled, the Metodo Classico secondary fermentation process begins and the wine becomes effervescent as the yeasts help produce alcohol and CO2, giving the wine its characteristic rich and full bouquet.
