River Garden

River Garden is a range of wines from the Lourensford Estate in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa.

The Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot 2006 (14% abv) comprises 62% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 28% Merlot and 10% Mourvedre grapes.

The Cabernet Sauvignon component is lightly wooded with American oak for five months, resulting in a deep red colour with a subtle combination of blackcurrant fruit, peach and light mint aromas. The palate is described as elegant yet firm, with dry tannins and an adequate level of acidity.

The Sauvignon Blanc 2007 (14% abv) is made from 86% Sauvignon Blanc grapes and 14% Semillon grapes. It is straw-yellow in colour, with lime aromas and tropical fruit flavours.
