P&G's Ariel 40°C auto-dose systemThe UK's 8,000-plus care homes with 20 or more beds are the target of P&G's Ariel 40°C auto-dose system which saves time, money and damage to fabrics while producing clean, fresh-smelling, soft and disinfected clothes, towels and bed linen.

It combines Professional Ariel washing liquid, Lenor liquid fabric softener and Professional Ace Hygiene stain-buster in a system that can save up to 60% on utility bills by using shorter wash cycles at a lower temperature of 40°C.

The phosphate-free Professional Ariel uses a patented enzyme formula, while the April Fragrance-scented fabric softener reduces static for easy ironing and allows four times more washes than regular Lenor.

Professional Ace Hygiene can kill 99.99% of bacteria (including MRSA and Influenza A), contains a colour-safe bleach and - crucially for staff safety - is non-corrosive.

All are available in 10-litre and 20-litre sizes, and the dosing pumps (which are replaced free each year) are compatible with all front-loading washing machines. P&G engineers will install the automatic dosing equipment that dispenses the correct amount of detergent for each wash (the easy-to-use control pad can carry as many as 20 tailored programs) and provide on-site training.

P&G has also recently launched the Ariel Hygiene Expert Formula washing powder specifically for care homes, which also works at 40°C and kills most known germs.
