KEC unit coolers from Searle

KEC unit coolerThe new KEC range of unit coolers for coldrooms and cool cabinets from Searle (part of the International Cooling Group) can save £100 on energy costs each year thanks to the use of low-noise, high-efficiency EC (electronically commutated) fansets.

The eco-friendly motors require just 50% of the power input of comparable coolers. They combine an AC supply and DC drive through built-in transformation to provide reduced energy loss and precise control of motor speed, so the units run at a lower temperature, prolonging their lives.

All use Searle D fins that are spaced at 4mm, 6mm or 8mm and are available in aluminium, vinyl and coated aluminium, copper or electro-tinned copper. The fins ensure efficient heat transfer and provide a secondary frost surface to increase the time between defrosts.

There are 10 models in the lineup, ranging from 1.2kW to 9.9kW. All have 300mm EC fansets with motors ranging from 1,370rpm to 1,750rpm with optional two-speed control. Fans have internal thermal protection and are flush-mounted within the white powder-coated galvanised-steel casings.
