Harveys Bar and Bistro

Enterprise Inns has bought the freehold on Harveys Bar and Bistro in Launceston, Cornwall, off an asking price of £795,000.

The confidential off-market deal involved complex negotiations by agent Stonesmith of Exeter with tenants Adrian and Sam Harvey and freeholder Philip Warren.

The business, which Enterprise Inns plans to trade as a leased unit, is one of the main pubs in Launceston town centre and supports a range of sports teams.

Wet sales account for 80% of its £470,000-plus annual turnover and it gets through 450 barrels a year.

Harveys comprises two separate buildings that front Church Street and Market Street. They include a 40-seat main bar, a restaurant and conservatory that can seat another 28 customers, and a sports bar. The conservatory to the rear leads to a 24-seat trade patio.

The Church Street building also contains a two-bedroom apartment, while the Market Street property has a two-bedroom first-floor flat.
