David Chambers: leaves on 9 July
Chambers will leave the traditional English restaurant, which is among London's oldest, on 9 July and will return to Ireland to join the Mount Wolseley Country Resort as executive chef. He has been working in London since he was 15 and said the time was right for a move.

"It's a fantastic development and they're spending an absolute fortune on the kitchens. I'll be overseeing the set-up, which is an enormous challenge," said Chambers.

He previously worked in executive chef roles at the London Hilton on Park Lane and the Le M‚ridien hotel, Piccadilly.

Ricky McMenemy, managing director of Rules, said the restaurant was looking to recruit a classically trained replacement.

The four-star, 142-bedroom Mount Wolseley in Tullow, County Carlow, is a £16.6m project opening in August. General manager John Keating was previously hotel manager of Rocco Forte Hotels' St David's Hotel and Spa in Cardiff Bay.

The resort will employ 150 staff, with banqueting for 550.
