Second World Food Awards open for entries

The second World Foods Association, the awards will be globally broadcast by Sony Entertainment Television (SET) Asia, which is co-organising the ceremony, and will include a guest list of sport, cultural and chef personalities.

The judging panel comprises of celebrity chefs including Ready Steady Cook star Ainsley Harriott, David Moore of the BBC's The Restaurant and owner of the Michelin-starred restaurants Pied à Terre and L'Autre Pied in London, food writer Anjum Anand. and Tony Matharu, managing director of Grange Hotels.

Meanwhile the Restaurant of the Year category will be judged exclusively by AA inspectors.

Last year, London's Cinnamon Club was named as the best ethnic restaurant in the UK.

World Food Awards 2010 categories are:

• Best Marketing Campaign
• Best Wholesaler
• Best New Product
• Best Packaging
• Best Independent Retailer
• Best National Retailer
• Entrepreneur of the Year
• Lifetime Achievement Award
