Police are appealing for hoteliers to help them track down a man wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting on 2 May in north-east London.
James Tomkins, who has also used the surnames Moncur and Wiseman, is wanted for questioning about the murder of a 25-year-old man in Hornchurch. Since the incident, when a man was shot as he put his children into his car, 57-year-old Tomkins has been staying mainly in hotels in London and the South-east.
He is white, with a London accent, receding hairline and occasional beard. He pays in cash and is a heavy drinker.
Police have warned he should not be approached as he could be armed and dangerous.
If you know anything about Tomkins, contact Det Insp Ian Foster on 07917 232626.
