The Scottish Government: Invitation to tender

The Scottish Ministers are seeking to award a framework contract with a number of suitably qualified and experienced companies for the supply of Catering and Associated Services. The framework will support The Scottish Government’s commitment to deliver healthy, nutritional and appetising eating options to all staff through the use of fresh and seasonal produce. The Scottish Government is also committed to reducing its environmental impact and successful contractors will be required to work with the Scottish Government to assist in delivery of these goals.

The framework will run for a 4 year period commencing December 2008 and will provide a range of services under the
following category headings:

  • Fully Managed Catering Services (including, but not limited to in-house restaurant/coffee shop services, hospitality, vending,
    events, kitchen deep cleans and equipment maintenance);
  • Hospitality;
  • Events; and
  • Vending.

Within the Fully Managed Catering Services and Hospitality categories, opportunities exist for both single and multi-site contracts, current known requirements are primarily clustered around the central belt of Scotland. Wider coverage will be sought for Events and Vending categories with the intention of providing national coverage.

The framework contract will be available to The Scottish Government, its Agencies, NDPB’s, Advisory NDPB’s, Public Corporations and Tribunals as listed on the CGCoPE website: http://www.cgcopescotland.gov.uk/cgcope/43.html

To date, six central government bodies have indicated their intentions to use the framework with more participants anticipated
throughout the life of the framework.

Companies should submit a written request for a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), indicating which of the above categories they wish to be considered for. Please note that the closing date for requesting a PQQ is noon on Friday 15 August 2008. Applications to Fiona Thomson, The Scottish Government, Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise, 1st Floor, Meridian Court, 5 Cadogan Street, Glasgow G2 6AT.

Email: Fiona.Thomson@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
Telephone: 0141 242 5483.

Please note the closing date for receipt of completed PQQ’s is noon on Thursday 21 August 2008.
