Pub giant Enterprise Inns has bolstered its senior management team ahead of the departure of its long-serving operations director next month.
Former president UK and Ireland of brewer InBev Colin Pedrick and Gerry Carroll, previously managing director at Little Chef, have joined the company in the newly created positions of managing directors of operations.
Carroll told CatererSearch his appointment would signal a return to his roots in a career that started with brewer Bass.
Managing director of operations Carroll has also worked as a regional manager at leisure group Whitbread and for Warner (now Vue) cinemas. Last year he was appointed by Little Chef’s then owners Permira to prepare the roadside chain for sale.
Carroll said: “What I can bring back to restaurants and pubs is the best way to deal with large numbers of customers, especially at peak times.”
The new appointees will take charge of eight regional directors each, divided geographically into East and West.
Enterprise operations director Gordon Harrison announced he would be retiring from the company after 15 years in April.
