Budget hotel group Travelodge has today unveiled an ambitious £150m expansion plan for Scotland, which will double its rooms in the UK.
The hotelier, which already has 30 hotels in England, has announced the plan as the Office for National Statistics announced that the UK economy is now on the brink of recession.
Paul Harvey, managing director for Property Development at Travelodge, said: “Scotland is a very important growth market for us, not just in Edinburgh and Glasgow but across the country.
“Given the current economic climate we are particularly keen to speak to hoteliers who are looking to get out as they start to struggle. If anyone is interested in talking to us they should contact our property agents in Scotland, Eric Young and Co.”
